DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. - A 15-year-old boy is in jail without bond for allegedly molesting a seven-year-old girl, Douglas County Sheriff's Office officials said.
Officials said the teen faces two charges – child molestation and aggravated child molestation – for offenses that happened over a one-year period at a home in central Douglas County.
Authorities have not released the name of the parties involved because of their ages.
Douglas County investigators did not go into detail about the case, in which the teen is being charged as an adult.
But they did tell Channel 2 Action News that the teen boy and the girl got acquainted when the boy's mother started dating the girl's father.
The parents are now living together and are engaged to be married.
The girl is still living with her father.
County officials are investigating the
case, and the GA Department of Children and Family Services is also conducting an investigation.
