A 14-year-old girl faces assault and murder charges in the stabbing death of an 11-year-old boy in Dawson County.
Dawson County News first reported Saturday that deputies responded to a stabbing call and found the boy with multiple stab wounds. Deputies said they were unable to save him.
“The story published by Dawson News is accurate. Unfortunately we are unable to provide additional info at this time,” Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson told Channel 2 Action News.

The identities and relationship of the 11-year-old and 14-year-old have not been released. The sheriff’s office told the Dawson County News the girl faces aggravated assault and felony murder charges.
The Dawson County Sheriff’s Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating the stabbing. No other details are available at this time.
