A woman was killed as Bartow County deputies tried to serve a drug search warrant Thursday evening.
It happened just after 6 p.m. on Evergreen Trail in Cartersville. Two deputies were serving the warrant when shots rang out, according to Sheriff Clark Millsap. It is unclear what led up to the shooting.
The deputies involved were not injured and have been placed on administrative leave, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jonathan Rogers told Channel 2 Action News. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into the incident.
