Lithia Springs store sells winning ticket worth $1 million

ATLANTA — A Lithia Springs store has sold a winning Georgia Lottery instant ticket worth $1 million dollars. Sharp Shell, located at 802 Thornton Road in Lithia Springs, sold a winning ticket with a top prize from the Georgia Lottery 20th Anniversary Extravaganza instant game.

The winner, Willie Lynch of Powder Springs, claimed his prize Oct. 10 at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
