Liberty County mother of 3 "Right On The Money" with $500K

ATLANTA — The Georgia Lottery has rolled out a half-million dollar prize for a mother of three in Liberty County. Monique Hendry of Allenhurst played the new instant game Right On The Money and won a $500,000 top prize.

Clyde’s Market #0038, 1457 Dunlevie Road in Allenhurst, is where she purchased her winning ticket.

“I just felt lucky,” the 29-year-old said. “I scratched it as I was walking out of the store. I was in a state of shock.”

A homemaker, Hendry and her husband, Carl, anticipate purchasing a new home and a new car with the winnings.

“I’m happy, but it hasn’t clicked in,” she shared.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
