Thousands of foreign domestic workers outraged by the alleged abuse of an Indonesian maid by her Hong Kong employers protested to demand justice and greater protection for their community on Sunday (January 19). Chanting slogans "we are workers, we are not slaves," the demonstrators in red headbands demanded justice for 23-year-old Eriwana Sulistyaningsih, who suffered heat burns on her arms and legs as well as bruises on her face after allegedly being abused by her employers for eight months.
