TROUP COUNTY, Ga. — A family in Troup County is mourning the loss of a 7-month-old boy.
The baby boy was killed when strong storms sent a giant tree slamming into the family's house.
Around 5:30 p.m. Friday, Katrina Slaughter, her two daughters and four grandchildren were inside the home on the 1200 block of E. 8th Street in West Point, when a huge tree toppled onto the roof, crushing it.
One of the youngest, a 7-month-old twin boy, was trapped and killed.

The family says they just couldn't get to him.
"I looked up and I see the tree coming into the house," Slaughter said. "And it fell down on us. Once it hit, we all fell to the ground. She had her baby, holding one of the twins. The other baby was on the bed. We didn't hear him crying or nothing. That's when we were screaming, trying to figure out how we were going to get out because we were trapped where everything had fell on top of us."
The family is thankful no one else was hurt.
They thank their neighbors for acting quickly to save them.
The 7-month-old twin brother of the boy killed, a 1-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl were all handed out a window to neighbors outside.
"Came over to the side window and started to break the window panes out. And he got the window up some and I got it all the way up. That's when they started grabbing kids and got us out."
The family tells Channel 2’s Steve Gehlbach the name of the boy killed is Kyren Davis.
