Family searches for answers one year after businessman was killed

ATLANTA — A local family is pleading for help nearly a year after their loved one was killed during an ambush attack.

Businessman Ron Clark was going to cash a check on Marietta Boulevard last year when men followed home.

His family met with Channel 2's Ryan Young near where Clark was killed one year ago.

"He was a good man," Clark's daughter, Annette Hendley said. "It's like a knot in my chest that just won't go away."

Police believe they have pictures of the suspect. Detectives say one of the men waited in Clark's van and when Clark started driving, the robber attacked him with a hammer.

Clark fought back and was shot in the stomach, police said.

Detective Kevin Otts has been working the case for the past year.

Otts told Young, "He was a good citizen who got killed going to pay his employees."

Police now hope a year later the video of the suspects helps get them more tips in a hope to catch the killers on the run.
