Experience landmarks, millions of lights at Global Winter Wonderland

ATLANTA — Spend the holidays admiring the Statue of Liberty, Big Ben and the Great Pyramid of Giza. You can do it without leaving Atlanta, since the opening of Global Winter Wonderland.

The 16-acre parking lot at Turner Field plays home to the new attraction. It includes millions of lights; from Santa and the snowmen to a 300-foot dragon to a to 70-foot-high global village to a Christmas Tree seven stories tall.

Global Winter Wonderland originated in China. Two years ago, it expanded to the United States; this year, one of the company's villages opened in Atlanta.

It took millions of LED lights, 100 tons of steel, 200,000 feet of silk and 10,000 gallons of glue to create this Wonderland.

It's open every day through Jan. 5 from 5-11 p.m. In addition to the landmarks and lights, admission includes a host of activities. The UniverSoul Circus performs Thursday thru Sunday nights. Plenty of musical talent will take to the stage every night and 21 rides are included with the price of admission.

Tickets are $24.99 for adults, $16.99 for kids 5 to 12. Children four and under get in free. The attraction offers discounts on its website.
