Ex-youth pastor, coach faces molestation charge

LOGANVILLE, Ga.,None — A former youth pastor and little league football coach is under arrest on suspicion of child molestation.

Stacy Everett, 42, faces child molestation and cruelty to children charges after Loganville police learned of accusations from a child in another state who used to live in the Loganville area.

"It's our understanding that the victim actually relayed the information to another family member who contacted law enforcement," said Loganville Police Chief Mike McHugh.

McHugh said Everett used to coach little league football in the area and served as youth pastor of a local church for a time, though he is no longer involved in either activity.

Officials declined to name the church, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.

The child who made the allegations is not believed to have met Everett through either of those activities.

But police want to know if there could be other cases out there.

"There may be other incidents outside our jurisdiction ... there are other jurisdictions looking into possible allegations," McHugh said.

Attempts to reach Everett's relatives were not successful.

Anyone with additional information should contact the Loganville Police Department.
