Wilt in the Wood: The Folk Art of Moses Robinson

Wit in Wood: The Art of Moses Robinson is a collection of carvings made by Robinson over the course of his lifetime. Born in South Carolina in 1845, Robinson moved to Sandy Springs where he lived for most of his 97 years. When illness struck Robinson and he was no longer able to farm his land, he began carving figures. He often used found objects, such as peach pits and walnut shells. The result is a collection of incredibly detailed and often whimsical figures.  Heritage Sandy Springs is pleased to unveil this collection to the public, after recently accepting the collection as a gift to the museum's archives.  On view now through September 2014!
