Rhubarb Jones, 11 Others, Fired At Kicks, Eagle

Rhubarb Jones, a fixture on the Atlanta radio scene, was fired Friday along with 11 other on-air performers at Kicks 101.5 and Eagle 106.7.

Along with Jones, others let go by owners Citadel Broadcasting include Kristen Gates, Wylie Rose, Steve Mitchell, Buck in the Truck and Sandy Weaver.

Only three of the stations' 15 on-air people survived. Cadillac Jack, Dallas McCade and Bill Celler will stay on the air.

Jones has been on the air at Eagle 106 since 1985. His biography on his web site at rhubarbjones.net says he's been in country radio full time since 1975. He was inducted into the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame last year.
