Atlanta Pet Rescue Celebrates Adopt a Cat Month

Now is the perfect time to adopt a furry feline friend! Atlanta Pet Rescue is celebrating Adopt a Cat month this June with special incentives to encourage potential cat adopters. Just for the month of June every cat adoption includes a free month of frontline (flea control) and microchip (including installation and lifetime registration) for your cat or kitten. More than 20 precious kittens and cats currently reside at Atlanta Pet Rescue’s adoption center. One of them is sure to be the perfect fit for you! Take advantage of this great value only available once a year!

Atlanta Pet Rescue matches pets with families in or around the metro Atlanta area. All adoption applicants must complete an application and be interviewed in person. An adoption fee is required. All of the pets listed on the Atlanta Pet Rescue website are spayed or neutered, heartworm tested (in cases of dogs older than six months), de-wormed, and current on all vaccinations prior to adoption. Cats older than four months are tested for feline leukemia and feline AIDS.

You may submit your application online at www.atlantapetrescue.org, or complete one at the adoption center. All applicants must be at least 23 years of age. All household members are required to attend the adoption interview. If you currently have pets in the household, you must bring along a copy of their most current medical records with proof of vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and proof of spay/neuter. Adoptions are held Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Saturday from 12 noon until 5 p.m. at 720 14th Street NW in Midtown (between Northside Drive and Howell Mill Road).

Atlanta Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill, volunteer-based animal shelter operating on a limited budget. The shelter rescues and finds adoptive homes for about 1,200 homeless dogs and cats each year. Pets are available for adoption five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday.
