Updated:ATLANTA,None - Back to school shopping can put a strain on the family, so Kroger is doing its part by helping teachers with some of the tools they need in the classroom.
The grocer is giving away $220,000 worth of school supplies as part of its 2010-2011 "Earning Plus Learning" campaign. Any metro Atlanta teacher interested in receiving free school supplies will simply need to provide a valid Georgia teacher ID at the event.
Each teacher will receive $43 worth of free school supplies and a $5 Kroger gift card. The supplies include copier paper, hand sanitizer, paper towels, disinfectant wipes, dry erase markers, facial tissue and scotch tape, among other items.
Educators will receive items on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
The event will be held Friday, August 6, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the following locations:

2. Atlanta Civic Center, 395 Piedmont Avenue, NE , Atlanta, Ga. 30308
