The Eagles play Verizon Amphitheatre in Alpharetta

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — The band behind the top-selling album of all time in the United States paid a visit to the Atlanta area Wednesday night.

The Eagles played Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta.

The band has made a habit of visiting the Atlanta area the past several years. In 2010, The Eagles played the Green Concert at Piedmont Park. The Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park welcomed The Eagles as the first major act of its inaugural season in 2008.

The concert included hit songs "Hotel California," "Desperado," "Witchy Woman" and "Take It Easy." Nelson's News on wsbtv.com covered the concert, taking photos and recording a video feed of part of "Hotel California." Take a listen:

If you missed the show, there is good news. The Eagles return to the Amphitheatre on Friday night. The bad news is the show has already sold out.

"Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975)" from The Eagles and Michael Jackson's "Thriller" are the two best-selling albums of all time in the United States. Both albums have been certified platinum 29 times, meaning 29 million albums have sold.

Ted Nugent, Jackie Evancho, Crosby, Stills and Nash and Kelly Clarkson are a few of the artists scheduled to play in Alpharetta this summer. Click here to see the full list of events.
