Douglas County deputies searching for 2 escaped inmates

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — New developments have surfaced in the escape of two inmates in Douglas County.

Deputies say two inmates were working lawn maintenance near Interstate 20 when they walked away Thursday afternoon. According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, Coleman Dwayne Manessa and Kenneth Judson Long did not have any help when they disappeared.

Channel 2 Action News learned that the men saw a car with keys inside and drove away in it. Authorities are now looking for a beige or gold colored Crown Victoria.

The men were wearing their dark blue jail uniforms with orange stripes.

The inmates were non-violent inmates. They were both under arrest for burglary, theft by taking and theft by receiving stolen property.

The fugitive squad is actively searching for them.
