Dollar General Held Up By Armed Gunmen

SNELLVILLE, Ga. — Police are looking for two men who held up a Dollar General store at gunpoint on Tuesday morning.

The robbery just before 9 a.m. at the Dollar General store in the 2300 block of Henry Clover Boulevard in Snellville, police said.

Capt. Harold Thomas with the Snellville Police Department told Channel 2 that both men were armed with pistols and got away with money from the safe, as well as an elderly customer's purse.

Thomas said one of the gunmen pointed a gun at the store manager and threatened him multiple times. That manager had to be taken to an area hospital after complaining of chest pains, police said.

Investigators believe that the robbers were familiar with the store and may have hit the store in the past, as early as two weeks ago.
