• Dead Man's Numbers Hit Mega Millions Prize

A Montgomery County couple played the lottery numbers of a recently deceased uncle and won the second-tier, $250,000 Mega Millions prize.

Maryland Lottery officials didn't release the names of the winners but said the couple bought the winning ticket in time for the July 16 drawing.

The man and woman told lottery officials they came across an old lottery ticket that belonged to their uncle, who recently died.

As a tribute to him, they played the numbers on that ticket.

You can watch the Mega Millions drawings on WSB-TV Tuesdays & Fridays right before the Channel 2 Action News Nightbeat at 11 p.m.
