DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - DeKalb County sheriff's deputies and SWAT team members had a home surrounded as they investigate whether a man wanted for a murder was inside.
The situation began late Tuesday night in the area of Hollow Tree Drive, just off Flat Shoals Parkway.
A Channel 2 Action News photographer reported from the scene that deputies were keeping people away from the home and that some people in nearby homes were evacuated.
Deputies were looking for Craig Tellis, 27. He is wanted for the shooting death of Antory Harris earlier this week at the Walden Pond apartments.
"The tip was he was there and was supposed to be there meeting someone else, another family member,"Sgt. Adrion Bell
Police said they believe Tellis shot Harris with an AK-47 while he stood on the balcony of his apartment Sunday night.
After more than three hours, deputies searched the home and did not find who they were looking for.
Deputies are hoping to work with Tellis' family in order to get him to turn himself in.
