Couple marries, guests surprise them in parking lot of church post-wedding

CUMMING, Ga — Amid the COVID-19 breakout, many upcoming weddings and celebrations have had to be canceled or postponed.

But one couple, Bill, 74, and Leah, 68, decided to go ahead with their vows – even though their friends and family couldn’t participate in celebrating...or so they thought.

The couple decided to go ahead with their plans of marrying at Eastgate Church in Cumming, Georgia.

After saying their “I do’s,” the happy couple went outside, only to find that their immediate families (under 10 people) had actually shown up to surprise them in the parking lot of the church. A friend of the family captured the beautiful moment from inside his car.

The family members clapped and cheered for the couple, who were both brought to tears by the love and support that they received. There was even a parade reception line of cars, with the people inside waving to the happy couple as they rode out of the church parking lot.

Although there is much worry and stress going on all around the world, it’s nice to see people coming together however they can – to continue to celebrate life’s biggest moments.

Congrats to Bill and Leah!
