Bangladesh Finance Minister Pledges to Improve Building Safety

Bangladesh is currently in the global spotlight after the deadly collapse of an eight-storey building housing a garment factory. More than 500 workers have died, with hundreds more trapped beneath the rubble. The country's finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said his government was conducting a survey of all the textile factories which supply garments to some of the leading global retailers and brands, to prevent the recurrence of such a disaster.
