Posted: 1:15 pm EDT September 26, 2006Updated: 5:56 pm EDT September 26, 2006

Traffic is flowing again after crews capped a broken gas main that shut down a busy intersection near Gwinnett Place Mall.

A construction crew punctured the six-inch line while working near the intersection of Pleasant Hill and Old Norcross Roads.

Employees of Atlanta Toyota, Eckerds Drugs and several nearby office buildings were evacuated.

Several blocks of both Pleasant Hill and Old Norcross Roads were closed off. Traffic was rerouted away from the area.

Crews repaired the broken line about 2:30 p.m. and roads in the area were reopened to traffic.
