Man Charged With Molestation, Rape

Posted: 4:49 pm EDT August 7, 2006Updated: 6:26 pm EDT August 7, 2006

An Alpharetta man is in jail and charged with molestation and rape after police say he repeatedly molested three young girls and posted at least some of the abuse on the internet.

Steven Pease, 40, is being held on seven charges and police say more charges are pending.

The FBI is also investigating and trying to determine who used the internet chat room and possibly viewed the posted videos.

Officials say they learned of the molestation last week when an 11-year-old girl told her friend’s mother about the abuse. Police say they believe he molested three girls, ages 5, 7 and 11.

The 11-year-old said she was too scared to speak up before according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Steven Pease is listed as weighing 330 pounds.

Officials believe much of the abuse occurred when the girls’ mother was at work or while she was sleeping. Officials say the girl's mother had three jobs and they believe she had no idea about the alleged molestations.

The girls lived in an apartment complex next to the Alpharetta Police Department headquarters.

Authorities have charged Pease two counts of aggravated child molestation and two counts of incest and one count each of rape, aggravated sexual battery and sexual exploitation of a minor.

Police say Pease had been out of a job since September. They believe the molestations began in March.
