At least three party-goers were wounded when shots were fired early this morning at a party thrown by rap mogul Jermaine Dupri.

The shooting happened at the Atlanta Peach Ballroom on Buford Highway.

The event was the culmination of a series of weekend parties sponsored by Dupri's So So Def Records.

"I guess you could say they went out with a bang," said Kellen Buffington who was inside the club during the shooting.

Police say a man tried to steal another man's necklace just before the shots were fired inside the packed nightclub.

Three female partiers were hit by shots and were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

A third woman was injured during the rush to get out of the club and was treated at Northside Hospital.

The party was organized by "Loose Cannon Productions."
