Police: 'Survivor' Winner Shot Dog With Bow & Arrow

Wednesday, July 5, 2006 – updated: 6:30 pm EDT July 5, 2006

Police say a winner of the popular reality show "Survivor" shot a dog twice with a bow and arrow.

During a bond hearing Wednesday in Douglas County court Brian Heidik told a judge he thought the dog was a coyote that has been harrassing his pets.

Police called to Heidik's house also charged him with battery and family violence.

After granting him a $6,000 bond, a judge ordered Heidik to stay away from his wife while he is out of jail.

The 34-year-old Heidik won a million dollars in the 2002 CBS show "survivor: Thailand".
