Suspected Drunk Driver Hits Police Car

Thursday, May 25, 2006

Police arrest a suspected drunk driver who caused an accident that seriously hurt a Cobb County police officer Thursday night. The multi-car accident happened at Highway 41 and Roswell Road around 9:45pm. Police say the driver of a black Ford pick-up clipped a Volvo, tried to drive away, then slammed into a white Camaro. The officer was in that Camaro, a patrol car. Police say the pick-up's driver then jumped out of the truck and ran behind a nearby cell phone store, where police arrested him. The officer was trapped in his car for about 15 minutes, then taken to the hospital in serious condition. Police say the officer was on his way to a training session.
