Train Vs. Semi: Train Wins

A semi-truck in Union City got tangled up in a rail crossing and was hit by an oncoming train shortly before 10 a.m. Friday.

The incident happened at the Gresham Street and US 29 intersection.

The semi-truck was carrying vegetable oil when it was hit by the northbound CSX freight train. The train pushed the semi-truck down the tracks before stopping.

Traffic has been impacted in the immediate area.

No injuries have been reported.

Federal law forbids paying welfare benefits to immigrants -- even legal immigrants. But a government investigation found that states all over the country are ignoring an important part of that law.
