Volunteers Needed To Search For Missing Tech Student

Posted: 5:42 am EST February 27, 2006Updated: 6:28 pm EST March 3, 2006

Volunteers are needed to search for a Georgia Tech student that has been missing for 2 weeks.

The same search company that flew to Aruba to help Natalee Holloway's family, are coming to Atlanta Saturday, March 4 to help Daniel Compton's family search for him. The searchers and Compton's family are asking for volunteers to help them with their search.

Daniel Compton's roommate says the 21-year-old senior was last seen at "Moondog's" bar in Buckhead in the early morning hours on February 17.

The Atlanta Police Department says NO foul play is suspected in Compton's disappearance.

Members of Compton's family were in town last weekend to hand out missing person fliers. The family, who's from Texas, is offering a $10,000 for information about Compton.

People interested in volunteering Saturday are asked to meet at the Georgia Tech Student Services Building at 9 a.m. Volunteers will be needed to drive cars, search apartments and motels and perform concentrated area searches.

The family says the main purpose of Saturday's search will be to locate Compton's car -- a 1998 Silver Honda Civic LX with a Texas license plate C91 CKV.

Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Mike Loy at 404-853-4235.
