Six Arrested After Forging Woman's Will

Posted: 6:36 pm EST January 23, 2006

Six people in Newton County are facing charges related to a case of a forged will.

Investigators say Nora Ellington somehow became 85-year-old Evelyn Fuller's caretaker. After taking over those duties, Ellington forged a bogus will that left everything Fuller owned to Ellington--including her home and all her money and possessions. When Fuller passed away on September 11, 2005, Ellington and 5 co-conspirators took all of Fuller's things and money--buying a big screen television and exercise equipment among other things. Investigators estimate all of Fuller's possessions--which was worth and estimated $150,000--was spent in the first 6 weeks after her death.

Fuller's attorney Matthew Ledbetter drew up Evelyn Fuller's original will in May of 2005 and noticed something amiss saying, "She was always ver particular about her signature so we knew the signatures were not hers."

Arrested in the case are Nora D. Ellington, 67, along with Perry Hugh Allee, 44, and his wife, Elaine Moss Allee, 43, and Thomas Howard Parham III, 58. Ellington's son and daughter-in-law - Ronald Eugene Ellington, 42, and Amanda Gail Ellington, 40, have also been arrested in the case.

They face numerous charges including forgery and theft by conversion.

Ledbetter added, "I don't want people walking around this county thinking thqat they can take advantage of the elderly in this type of situation."

Ledbetter said in her original will, Fuller had left everything to charity.
