3 Ga players win $1 million in Powerball prizes

ATLANTA — Georgia Lottery players across the state have won large prizes playing Powerball, including three $1 million prizes and six $10,000 prizes from Wednesday’s massive $448 million jackpot drawing.

Winning tickets with $1 million prizes were sold in Peachtree City, Stockbridge and Pooler. Tickets with $10,000 prizes were sold in Rising Fawn, Augusta, Columbus, Duluth, West Point and Athens. One winning ticket worth $40,000 was sold in Savannah.

Since the Powerball jackpot began rolling June 26, five winning tickets worth $1 million and 15 tickets worth $10,000 were sold across Georgia.

Powerball generated $9.9 million in profit for lottery-funded HOPE Scholarship and Pre-K programs since the jackpot began rolling June 26.

Winning numbers from Wednesday's Powerball drawing were: 5-25-30-58-59 and the Powerball was 32.

Powerball tickets are $2 per play. Players can add the Power Play feature for an additional $1 per play to multiply non-jackpot prize winnings.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
