Race Fans Gather For NASCAR Golden Corral 500

Thousands of NASCAR fans have gathered for today's Golden Corral 500 race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

It's the fourth race of the NASCAR season.

100-thousand fans are expected to attend.

Many hit the roads before dawn this morning, for the drive to Hampton in Henry County.

Traffic was backed up for miles on U.S. Highway 19/41.

Dozens of Georigia State Patrol troopers were on hand, to help with traffic control.

Dedicated race fans arrived a couple of days ago, and eight thousand RV's have set up camp near the speedway.

NASCAR fans love the sport of racing.

The sport has grown at an astouding rate, gaining more and more fans each and every year.

Fans say NASCAR has become a family event, with plenty of events for children to enjoy. (rc 03/14/2004 11:25am)

While the city of Atlanta still hasn't provived all of what we asked for, Fleischer has uncovered what appears to be a 911 emergency.
