Man Accused Of Molesting Girl Arrested In Park

A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged on suspicion of molesting a 13-year-old girl, Aragon police said.

William Christopher Gayton, 19, of Taylorsville, Ga., was arrested on July 21. Aragon police said Gayton was with the 13-year-old at a city park in Aragon when they arrested him. "They were both in a vehicle together at the time they were contacted by police," authorities said in a news release.

Gayton is charged with sexual exploitation of children, child molestation, aggravated child molestation, statutory rape and child pornography.

Gayton was released on a $10,000 bond.

“We ask any other persons that may have had inappropriate contact with William Gayton to please contact the Aragon Police Department,” officials said.

“We will handle each allegation in a thorough manner to ensure that appropriate action is taken,” said Police Chief Wayne Sanders.
