McDonough, Ga. -- Officials continue searching for a hit-and-run driver who briefly stopped to apologize to the victim before speeding away.

Forest Park police say 60-year-old Carol Floyd was knocked down in a crosswalk. The incident was caught on the officer's dash cam.

Floyd tells The Henry Daily Herald she heard the driver apologize and was angry to learn she fled the scene.

Police Maj. Chris Matson said an officer who happened to be stopped at the intersection began tending to Floyd and the suspect asked him where she should move her vehicle.

Matson said the officer kept helping Floyd and when he looked to the spot where he told the suspect to park, she was gone.

Floyd suffered fractures to a leg, knee and arm during Friday's incident.
