CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Pedestrian Hit While Crossing Road
Police dashcam video catches a driver hitting a pedestrian, then driving off.A driver fled the scene after injuring the pedestrian crossing Jonesboro Road Friday morning, officials said.The driver struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk at Conley Road in Forest Park, then immediately drove off, said Forest Park police in an e-mail to Channel 2 Action News.

A Forest Park police officer said he witnessed the accident and stopped to help the victim. Officials said the pedestrian was later transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.The driver was described as a blonde, curly-haired white female in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee with chrome step bars.Anyone with additional information to assist the investigation is asked to contact the Forest Park Police Department at 404-366-4141.
