GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- A Gwinnett man was found dead in his bedroom and friends of the victim said it may be connected to another shooting.

Gwinnett County Police tell Channel 2 Action News reporter Mike Petchenik that someone showed up to the home on Adams Landing Court around 2 a.m. Saturday and went straight for the victim's bedroom and shot him once with a high-caliber gun.

Neighbor Ahmed Ibrahim was in shock over the shooting at his friend's Lawrenceville home.

"It's something, a tragedy. I don't know what to do next," Ibrahim said.

"It doesn't appear that, at this point in time, that this was a random break-in. However, the investigation has only just begun. It's too early to say if the victim and the suspect knew each other," said Corp. Brian Kelly of the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Channel 2 Action News reported a shooting at the same house in February after someone shot the homeowner's son in the leg. Investigators said they were told several conflicting stories about the shooting.

Ibrahim told Petchenik that he believes someone from that previous shooting came back looking for the same son but mistakenly killed the victim.

"They were supposed to be looking for the boy, but the victim was just in the house," Ibrahim said.
