Explosives Unit Sent To Suspicious Vehicle

A suspicious vehicle has shut down Dawson Boulevard north of Pleasant Dale Road in Gwinnett County.

Gwinnett County Police Officer Brian Kelly said the Gwinnett County Explosive Ordinance Device (EOD) Unit was sent to respond to the suspicious vehicle after a Gwinnett County police officer thought the vehicle may contain an improvised explosive device or hoax explosive device.

Channel 2 Action News reporter Manuel Bojorquez said officials have removed the suspicious device from the vehicle.

An officer stopped the vehicle after a traffic violation at about 3:35 p.m., according to investigators. The driver of the vehicle has been taken into custody during the investigation.
