COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- A jewelry store manager, carrying a store bank bag to his car, was shot in the parking lot of Cumberland Mall Sunday night, police said.

It happened in plain view mall patrons just outside Maggiano's restaurant at the mall.

Cobb County police spokesman Joe Hernandez said the masked gunman shot the 31 year old victim multiple times, but the victim managed to drive across the street to Barnes and Noble where witnesses called 911.

"He was in his vehicle when he was approached by a man who had his face covered," said Hernandez.

Paramedics took the victim to Grady Memorial Hospital where he is in stable condition.

Police said the gunman fled in a green Toyota or Infinity.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Cobb County police.
