Gwinnett County police are investigating a rape that occurred inside a storage room at the Mall of Georgia in Buford, authorities said.

Investigators said the suspect, identified as Jarvis Wiley, 20, of Lawrenceville, asked the 21-year-old victim to assist him in the storage room.

Once in the storage room, the suspect allegedly sexually assaulted the victim, authorities said.

Investigators said Wiley and the victim are acquaintances and are employed at separate kiosks inside the mall.

Police said the victim immediately reported the incident to Mall of Georgia security and Gwinnett County police. An investigation provided probable cause to arrest Wiley and charge him with one count of rape, police said.

Wiley was taken to the Gwinnett County Jail and held without bond.
