ATHENS, Ga. -- University of Georgia Police Department officials announced that an arrest warrant has been issued in connection with a Clemson University student who said he was assaulted at a fraternity house.Police issued the warrant for Gene Whitner Milner III after an investigation into a Clemson student’s claims that he was held against his will and beaten at the Chi Phi fraternity house in Athens on Nov. 15.Police said sufficient probable cause was developed to obtain one felony false imprisonment and one misdemeanor battery arrest warrant for Milner.Milner is not a current UGA student, officials said.Police said an 18-year-old Clemson University student had multiple cuts and a swollen right eye when they found him in the street outside the fraternity house early Sunday morning.Wsbtv.com has learned that Milner was connected to another incident at UGA in 2006 in which a freshman died after a night binge drinking.Milner was charged in connection with the January 2006 death of UGA student Lewis Rockwell Fish. Fish, 19, died of a toxic combination of alcohol, cocaine and heroin. Milner originally faced misdemeanor possession of marijuana charges in that case. Six other students were charged in Fish's death for supplying the freshman with alcohol and drugs.Charges were later dropped against Milner due to insufficient evidence.
