Wife Found Dead; Man In Custody After Standoff

DECATUR, Ga. -- A SWAT situation in Decatur ended after an Athens murder suspect gave himself up shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday.Athens-Clarke County police said officers found Stephanie Ann Studstill, 33, dead from stab wounds at her Carriage Court residence around 7 a.m.Police issued a look out for her husband, 30-year-old William Joseph Studstill. Officials said a short time later Studstill was located at a home in Decatur on South Candler Street near Agnes Scott College.After a brief standoff with the Decatur Police Department SWAT team, he was taken into custody without incident.Officials said Studstill was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained before the standoff.Police said the investigation continues.
