Clayton Teacher Arrested After Contact With Student In Gym

FOREST PARK, Ga. -- A metro Atlanta high school teacher was arrested following allegations of misconduct with a female student.

Lawrence McGraw, 34, a teacher at Forest Park High School, is accused of inappropriate contact with the 16-year-old student.

Forest Park police said the incident allegedly took place inside the school’s gym on Oct. 8. Investigators said they notified the student’s parents the day after the incident.

After investigating the allegations, detectives sought an arrest warrant against McGraw. A hearing was held Wednesday and McGraw was charged with simple battery.

McGraw was being held at the Clayton County Detention Center without bond.
