Authoritiies are investigating an apparent arson at a church in an Atlanta suburb.

Investigators believe someone tried to set the first Mallalieu United Methodist Church ablaze Monday afternoon. Someone threw a brick into the window of the East Point church and an accelerant was used to light a fire inside, police said.

The flames eventually went out on their own.

Officials said no one was inside at the time of the fire.

The state Insurance Commissioner's Office offered a $10,000 reward for information about the fire.
