Police: UPS Executive Accused Of Rape Commits Suicide

NORCROSS, Ga. -- An Atlanta-based UPS executive accused of rape committed suicide Monday, according to Gwinnett County police.Officers found Mark Samoline, 50, dead in a room at the Residence Inn Marriott hotel on Triangle Drive in Norcross about 1:45 p.m.Police in Bloomington, Ind. arrested Samoline last week and charged him with rape.Samoline, a vice president for UPS, told authorities that the sex was consensual and pleaded not guilty to the rape charges.He was out on bond and was on leave from UPS when he was found dead.The medical examiner ruled the death a suicide by asphyxiation.
