Man Wielding Baseball Bat Robs CVS

Posted: 1:05 pm EST November 6, 2009Updated: 4:41 pm EST November 6, 2009

Cobb County police arrested a 28-year-old man after he allegedly robbed a CVS Pharmacy on the East-West Connector.

Police said a man wearing a Halloween mask and armed with a baseball bat entered the CVS Pharmacy just before 6 a.m. Thursday and demanded money from the employee at the cash register. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled on foot.

While responding to the crime, an officer observed a Ford Focus parked off of Hicks Road -- which is less than a mile from the CVS. The officer located the suspect -- who was in the process of walking to his vehicle -- and took him into custody without incident.

Police arrested Christopher Adams, 28, of Dallas, Ga.

He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, wearing a mask or hood, armed robbery and two counts of aggravated assault.

Adams is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
