Clayton County police are investigating a home invasion in which a couple was tied up and the wife was beaten.

Just after 3 a.m., police said someone broke into a home on Rice Court in the Neal Pointe subdivision in Ellenwood.

The home invader came through a back window and tied up a husband and his wife.

The robber then beat up the woman, police said.

Police have not yet said what the home invader took or what he was after.

There is no description of the suspect. He got away on foot.

The woman was not badly injured but was transported to the hospital as a precaution, according to Office Hughes with the Clayton County Police Department.

Police continue to investigate.
