Man's Body Found In Boggs Creek

A body was found in Boggs Creek Friday morning, according to the Lumpkin County Deputy Coroner.

The Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office said a man’s body was found in the creek near a campsite off Highway 129 in the Chattahoochee National Forest.

Police said the man is in his 30s and they do know who he is, but they do not want to release his name until his family has been identified.

Cause of death has not yet been determined, police said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Georgia Forestry Service are assisting with the investigation.
