GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- Gwinnett County police released the names of a man and woman found shot to death on a Buford road over the weekend.

Officials said they found two people shot on West Rock Quarry Road in Buford Saturday around 7 p.m. after a caller said there were people on the ground with blood on them.

When officers arrived, they said they found a man lying on the passenger side of a maroon Toyota Tacoma and a woman lying near the man with a gunshot wound.

Police said a handgun was found on the ground near the woman.

The man, identified as Jimmy Watts, 53, of Tiger, Ga., was pronounced dead on the scene. The woman, Margie Gibbs, 67, of Columbus, died at Gwinnett Medical Center.

Police said they do not know if the two victims knew each other or whether there was anyone else involved.

Police said an official ruling of the incident will be announced after the medical examiner has completed the autopsies of both victims.
