Channel 2 Action News has confirmed that a 7-year-old boy from Ellijay has died of H1N1 or swine flu.

The Georgia Department of Health said the boy had an underlying medical condition.

"This student had not been at a Gilmer County school since last year when school ended on May 22," said Randy Parson, superintendent of the Gilmer County school system.

WSB-TV Channel 2 checked the state health department's Web site, and four people have died of swine flu in Georgia this year.
