Teen Bystander Wounded During SW Atlanta Gunfight

Victim Taken To Grady Memorial Hospital

ATLANTA -- A teenaged bystander was shot and wounded late Thursday night during a gunfight between two men that also left one of the men wounded.

The gunfire broke out at the Hidden Pines Apartments off Cushman Circle just before midnight.

Detectives said they believe two men began shooting at each other behind one of the apartment buildings.

A stray bullet from the gun battle hit Shenikqua Jones, 17, standing outside another building in the apartment complex.

One of the gunmen, Gregory Gainer, 24, was shot in the groin. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he is in critical condition.

The teenager is in stable condition at Grady.
