Officials in Tennessee dropped all charges Thursday against the Gwinnett County man accused of kidnapping and raping an Atlanta stripper.

"Our office dismissed all charges against David Jansen today," said the Sevier County district attorney in a statement faxed to Channel 2 Action News. "The credibility of the alleged victim is in doubt and based upon all the evidence, we could not obtain a conviction against Mr. Jansen, nor would we try."

Jansen was accused of kidnapping the woman from Atlanta in May, driving her to a cabin in Sevier County, Tenn. and raping her.

He claimed the pair had a relationship and the sex was consensual. Jansen, a married father of two, maintained the entire incident was planned. His wife has filed for divorce.

Prosecutors in Tennessee said they have discussed their decision to drop the charges with the woman who claimed she was raped.

"She insists that her allegations are true," the district attorney said in his release.

The woman has been charged several times with filing false reports in other cases.

Tennessee officials said they would not prosecute the woman for filing a false report against Jansen
